Energy Flows Where Attention Goes
Yesterday, I saw where I was wasting energy. Today, I’m cutting the waste and focusing on what matters.
Momentum comes from doing what moves us forward, not from doing more. The problem? We often feed what drains us instead of what fuels us. Studies show we have about 6,000 thoughts a day—80% are negative. If we don’t control our focus, we reinforce the very things holding us back.
Ask yourself:
What deserves my attention? What actually moves me forward?
What am I feeding that I need to starve? What beliefs, distractions, or habits keep me stuck?
We create "Monsters"—fears and doubts that grow when we repeat old narratives. Neuroscience confirms our brains fixate on past failures more than future potential. But we are not defined by what we waste—we are defined by who we become. Shift your focus from the problem to the momentum it creates.
Courage is key. You must be willing to be disliked, let go of external validation, and trust your path. Harvard Business Review found leaders who embrace decisiveness, even when criticized, are 30% more effective. Momentum doesn’t come from changing the situation—it comes from seeing it differently.
Lao Tzu said, “When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” The Tao teaches that effortlessness comes from flowing with life, not resisting it. In business and in life, we waste energy when we fight what is. Instead of feeding negativity, step into alignment with your path. A Stanford study found that reframing negative thoughts boosts problem-solving by 60%. So today, I’m making a choice: focus on momentum, not distractions.
Where is your attention going today? Is it creating movement or keeping you stuck?
